Bexar County Sheriff alerts public to recent scam

BEXAR COUNTY – A warning was issued by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office regarding a scam that has been making its way around the county.

BCSO stated that they were made aware that citizens are receiving phone calls from a “Sergent Anderson” and “Lieutenant Colbert” demanding money in order to avoid being arrested for an outstanding warning for failing to show up to a jury summons.


“The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office does not take payment by phone, nor will we accept payment to avoid arrest,” said Bexar County officials.

Citizens who receive a call like this are asked to call the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office at 210-335-6000.
