PHILADELPHIA — Six police officers have been shot in Philadelphia in an active shooter incident. The incident is in the Nicetown-Tioga section of Philadelphia.
The officers were serving a narcotics warrant when the gunfire erupted.
Reports indicate that the injuries to officers are non-life-threatening. Two officers have already been released from the hospital.
The first shots rang out at about 4:30 Wednesday afternoon, with gunshots being heard for the next 90 minutes.
Two officers were trapped in the second floor of the building but were able to vacate eventually with no injuries.
There were also multiple other people trapped in the second floor of the building.
Officers are attempting to communicate with the shooter; imploring him to surrender and avoid further injuries.

The scene is still active and negotiators are working on getting the suspect to surrender.
