Planning a river trip? Your car may not be there when you get back

Be careful where you park along the river because there may be “No Parking” signs posted along the roadway.

Witnesses are saying that illegally parked cars are being towed from Brinks Crossing, also known as Monkey Island in Center Point.

The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office stated that they will give drivers the chance to move their vehicle before they have it towed, but if they cannot find you, your vehicle may not be there when you get back.

If you find yourself in this situation, you may contact the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency number at 830-896-1133, if outside city limits. Those within the city limits can call the Kerrville Police Department at 830-257-8181 to find out if your vehicle has been towed.

Illegally parked cars in that area can cause issues for people trying to get across the bridge. This also causes headaches for emergency responders trying to get to the other side of the river quickly.

To keep yourself and those around you safe, please pay attention to and obey local signage.
