KERRVILLE – It was announced by the Kerrville Police Department that on August 5, 2019, at approximately 3:25 p.m., officers were called to the Kerrville Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in response to a missing child.
When officers arrived, they learned that the community center’s staff had located the child before police arrived.
KPD said that witnesses at the scene indicated that another juvenile had taken the child against their will to a location inside the building.
Officers detained the suspect juvenile once they were located inside the facility, stated KPD.
Interviews were conducted and security camera footage was reviewed during a criminal investigation which resulted in the suspect juvenile’s arrest.
The Kerrville Police Department added that based on the information gathered during the investigation, the suspect juvenile was charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and Indecency with a Child. KPD said that additional charges are pending.
After the suspect juvenile was processed, he was transported to a Juvenile Detention Center.
