GILLESPIE COUNTY – Two suspects were arrested on Tuesday by a Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office deputy on drug related charges during a traffic stop, according to the Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office.
Law enforcement stated that the deputy conducted the traffic stop around 8:00 a.m. in the 1400 block of East Main Street in Fredericksburg .
After making contact with the male driver and passenger, verbal consent was given for the deputy to search the vehicle, which is when the deputy discovered two small Ziploc style baggies containing 3.5 grams of methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia, reported GCSO.
GCSO said the driver, a 57-year-old from Lipan, Texas was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 >= 1 gram < 4 grams and the passenger, a 50-year-old passenger from Spiro, OK was arrested and charged with Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1 >= 1 gram < 4 grams.
Both suspects were taken to the Gillespie County Jail.
GCSO added that a search warrant was executed on a small safe inside the vehicle which they found to contain several empty baggies and two small baggies similar to the ones that were found in the vehicle search. The two bags in the safe were said to contain approximately 10.5 grams of methamphetamine.
After the search of the safe, the passenger was additionally charged with Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1 >= 4 grams < 200 grams, said officials.
