HOUSTON – On Tuesday, August 20th, Shannon Coutouzis, 29, a youth pastor at the Crossing Church in Nazarene, was arrested after investigators discovered she allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with a child.
Coutouzis was indicted by a Fort Bend County grand jury in July but according to court documents was not taken into custody until this week.
According to Jessica Reyes, spokesperson for the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, Coutouzis has been charged with indecency with a child sexual contact.
Records show during her time as a youth pastor Coutouzis had access to children as not only a youth minister but as well as a coach.
Jail records indicate that Coutouzis was taken to the Fort Bend County Jail with a $25,000 bond and has since bounded out.
According to official records, the conditions of the bond include surrendering her passport and she must stay at least 500 feet away from the child’s home.
Documents show that Coutouzis is staying in a home with her father in West Houston.
