Winners named from UGRA River Clean Up art contest

Last week, the Upper Guadalupe River Authority announced the winners of their recent UGRA River Clean Up art contest. The contest was held to design the upcoming River Clean Up event t-shirts.

As recognized by UGRA, the winners of the art design contest were Kiersten Adams, an upcoming 9th grader at Center Point High School. Adams received a certificate of achievement and a $100 check. The second and third place winners were Ethan Wrase, an upcoming 9th grader at Tivy High School, and Zoe Crider, who is also entering 9th grade at Center Point High School. Wrase received a $50 check and Crider received a $25 check for their placement.

“Thank you for your enthusiasm to contribute to the success of UGRA’s annual River Clean Up. I hope that participation in the contest increased your awareness of the need to keep our river clean and beautiful,” said Diane McMahon, UGRA’s Outreach and Education Committee Chair.

UGRA has scheduled their 15th Annual River Clean Up for Saturday, July 28, 2018. It will be held at Flat Rock Park and the first 200 volunteers will receive a free t-shirt featuring Kiersten’s artwork on the front. Visit www.ugra.org for additional information.
