LA VERNIA – The La Vernia Independent School District Superintendent is facing an allegation that he inappropriately touched a cheerleader during an away game in Sinton Friday.
The report was made on Friday, August 30th, against Superintended Dr. Trent Lovette for the inappropriate actions at the game.
According to police documents, the victim informed a Sinton Police Officer that she was touched inappropriately by the Superintendent while she was standing at attention on the track.
The victim told the officer she could feel a hand move back and forth while a male voice ask her how she was doing, officials say.
According to police, when the victim glanced behind her she apparently saw Dr. Lovette was the one who was touching her in an inappropriate manner.
The victim approached the Sinton Police Officer working security at the game about the incident.
The cheerleader told the officer she wanted to file official charges against Dr. Lovette and that “it was an uninviting touch and made her feel uncomfortable.”
The La Vernia Independent School District Board has arranged to discuss Superintendent Lovette’s performance at a special hearing on Friday, September 6th.
