ATASCOSA COUNTY – A three-county motorcycle pursuit ended in an arrest on multiple charges.
The pursuit began on FM 536 in northern Atascosa County and ended on Loop 410 in southwest San Antonio on Monday, August 5 when a traffic stop was attempted on a 2016 Harley Davidson for speeding.
The driver of the motorcycle, named as Kevin Warnken, 27, or Pleasanton, accelerated and refused to stop for the sheriff’s deputy, said ACSO.
The pursuit continued into Wilson County where two DPS Troopers joined in the chase.
The Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office stated that the motorcyclist circled back to Loop 1604 and then to IH 37 before entering San Antonio where he took Loop 410 west while reaching speeds close to 120 mph.
As the three officers kept sight of the motorcycle, it began to run out of fuel north of the IH 35 interchange.
Warnken was arrested for a third-degree felony for Evading Arrest with a Vehicle.
It was also discovered that Warnken had two warrants for first-degree felony Violation of Probation from a past Aggravated Assault conviction.
Warnken was booked into the Atascosa County Jail.
