HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A shooting suspect was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly shot a man at a party and tried to flee the scene on foot.

According to Constable Mark Herman’s Office, deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 20003 block of Sweet Magnolia Place on December 1.

Once deputies arrived, witnesses advised that the shooter was attempting to flee the scene on foot.

The shooting suspect, identified as 19-year-old Lee Jorczak, was quickly located and detained.

Deputies also located the male victim who reportedly had a single, non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his torso.

He was then transported to a local hospital.

Deputies learned Jorczak was intoxicated at the time of the incident.

Jorczak reportedly walked outside of the residence where the party was being held, brandishing a handgun.

The male victim then went outside and began to struggle with Jorczak over the firearm.

Jorczak allegedly discharged multiple rounds, hitting the victim once.

Constable Herman’s Office says the victim was still able to disarm Jorczak and walk back into the residence to secure the handgun after he was shot.

Jorczak was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail where he was Charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

His bond has been set at $50,000.
