CARRIZO SPRINGS – A Carrizo Springs High School counselor is dead after an 18-year-old CSCISD student allegedly stabbed him when he said he tried to grab his penis, according to officials.
The Dimmit County Sheriff’s Office reportedly responded to a call in the 100 blocks of School Street in Asherton on Tuesday at approximately 11:00 p.m. when Carlos Pena, 50, was found dead inside.
Upon the arrest of the 18-year-old suspect, identified as John Alvarado, an arrest affidavit stated that Alvarado said to police that Pena tried to grab his penis so he hit him with closed fists multiple times to his head and face.
The document added that Alvarado then grabbed a pocket knife from his right pocket and stabbed Pena in his neck, torso, and abdomen.
The unnamed 18-year-old suspect has been arrested and faces a murder charge.
An investigation is currently underway by the Texas Rangers and the Dimmit County Sheriff’s Office.
