Scam reported out of Kendall County

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office reported today that they have received information about a scam that has been targeting its citizens.

“Subjects have been calling people on the phone identifying themselves as Larry Ripley with the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office. They go on to say that they have a citation that they need to be served and are required to pay a fee. Or they say that they did not show up in Judge Palmers court and there is a warrant for their arrest and if they don’t want to be arrested, they need to pay the fine over the phone,” stated the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office on their Facebook page.

Kendall County Sheriff’s Office informs the community that The Sheriff’s Office will never call and ask for money over the phone. They will come to get you or have you go to the proper court and pay the fines.

The Sheriff’s Office asks any individual who gets a call like this to hang up the phone.
