Police standoff in San Antonio lasts 5 hours, ends with no one home

SAN ANTONIO – A standoff lasting over 5 hours from last Saturday night into early Sunday morning ended with involving a SWAT team raid just to discover that no one was home.

Saturday, August 17th, around 8 p.m. San Antonio Police were called out to a residence in the 1100 block of North Sabinas Street about a shooting.





According to officials, the victim, Javier Galindo, age 40, was visiting the alleged suspect, Jose Moreno, age 49, with a group of friends.

Galindo and Moreno got into a disagreement and started arguing, the argument became heated and Moreno allegedly shot Galindo in the neck. SWAT and hostage negotiators arrived at the residence and were able to remove the friends from Moreno’s home one by one.

After several hours, leading into early Sunday morning, around 2:30 a.m., SWAT officers fired tear gas into the residence, upon entry they discovered Moreno was no longer inside.





Officers have issued a warrant for Moreno’s arrest. The charge on the warrant is currently aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
