HOUSTON – A video released by the Houston Police Department shows a group of suspects who appeared to carjack a man at gunpoint while he was in the driveway of his Houston home.
According to police, the incident occurred on August 5 at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Longbrook in southwest Houston when the man was confronted by a suspect after he had pulled into his driveway and was about to exit his vehicle.
In the video, it appears that when the driver opened his door, a suspect dressed in dark clothing darted for the victim’s vehicle holding what police believe to be a handgun.
The victim is then seen closing his car door, however, the suspect was able to open the door while another suspect ran to the vehicle for assistance.
While this was taking place, a white Toyota Camry can be seen pulling in behind the driveway when another man with a white t-shirt exits the Camry’s rear door.
The video shows the group of suspects pulling the driver out of his vehicle and onto the ground before one of the suspects got into the victim’s vehicle and drove off. The other suspects are shown fleeing the scene in the Toyota Camry.
