COLLEGE STATION – A mother by the name of Patricia Dianne Rainosek, 28, was arrested for leaving her two children, ages 8 and 9, alone for 10 hours in a home said to be filthy and with little food for close to 10 hours while she was in Houston, according to the College Station Police Department.
Police were called to the 3800 block of Westfield on Thursday morning at approximately 5:00 a.m. in regards to a disturbance.
When the officers arrived, they reportedly found the two children in what they described as a filthy place with dog feces and urine throughout the house and little food was in the fridge.
A report filed by the College Station Police Department stated that the children had been left with a cell phone containing sexually explicit content and messages and also displayed evidence suggesting that Rainosek was involved in prostitution.
Police said that the mother returned to the home at about 9:00 a.m. and admitted to officers that she was in Houston to retrieve her belongings that were at her ex-boyfriend’s and that she left the children home alone because she didn’t know anyone who could watch them.
Court records revealed that Rainosek had several active warrants that included traffic-related and drug-related offenses along with a prostitution charge from Nueces County.
For this incident, she was charged with two counts of Abandoning/Endangering a Child with the Intent to Return. Rainosek was transported to Brazos County Jail with a bond totaling $26,000.
