Mental health and intellectual disability assessment ordered for Derion Vence, stepfather of Maleah Davis

HOUSTON – An order for mental health or intellectual disability assessment has been filed for Derion Vence, the stepfather of Maleah Davis.

Court documents show that the order was filed on June 5 in Harris County.





Vence was reportedly arrested on May 11 and charged with Tampering with Evidence – Human Corpse in connection to the death of the 4-year-old after law enforcement discovered traces of blood at his residence.

Records show that Vence is currently being held in the Harris County Jail on a $45,000 bond.
