LUFKIN – A man who prosecutors say informed police he drowned a 3-year-old boy because his girlfriend was pregnant and they needed room in their home, has been given a life sentence in prison without parole.
Police officials state Bobby Woods Jr. told police his girlfriend, Billie Jean Cuttler, was pregnant and that he wanted Cuttler’s 3-year-old nephew, Mason, dead.
According to authorities, the reasoning was because they needed the extra space in their home where they lived with several other families.
According to a lawyer, Cuttler was not pregnant.
Woods was found guilty on Friday, August 16th, of Capital Murder for the 2015 death.
According to investigators, Woods shoved Mason into a pond near Lufkin, which is 110 miles outside of Houston.
Billie Jean Cuttler, Bobby Woods Jr’s accomplice, encountered competency issues and pled guilty to Conspiracy to Commit Murder in exchange for a 20-year prison term.
