Man accused of mutilating mother’s head with hand tools

DENTON – Sunday, May 5th, Denton police received a call by a neighbor about Isaac Israel Warriner, age 22, who “was acting weird” and carrying around cleaning supplies in his apartment complex. According to officials, upon entry of Warriner’s unit officers discovered a hacksaw and his mother’s body, which had been decapitated.

The next day Warriner was seen driving his mother’s vehicle and led police on a chase into Oklahoma. He was captured and held in Oklahoma until Thursday, May 16th, when he was transported back to Denton.

Friday, May 17th, Warriner was held in the Denton County Jail on the apparent charge of abuse of a corpse and has not been charged with the killing of his mother, Sarah Warriner. Currently, Warriner is suspected of removing his mother’s head with the hacksaw located in his apartment, police have not yet responded to the request for additional information on other charges or if Warriner is suspect in his mother’s death.

According to Texas State Penal Code Title 9, section 42.08, subsection A.1, abuse of a corpse is state jail felony. According to jail records, there is no indication on if Warriner has an attorney at this time.
