K9 deputy discovered over 2 pounds of tar heroin during two traffic stops

BEXAR COUNTY – The DEA Task Force (TAG), along with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, BCSO Patrol Units, the Schertz Police Department and BCSO K9 Rocket seized over 2 pounds of tar heroin during a two traffic stops on Monday, according to BCSO.

BCSO reported that two vehicles that were traveling in tandem southbound on IH-35 and were stopped by law enforcement.





During the traffic stops, K9 Rocket discovered close to 2.4 pounds of tar heroin which was found inside the trunk of one of the vehicles, stated BCSO.

As a result of the seizure, BCSO announced the arrest of four individuals identified as Fabian Garza, 27, Matthew Belmares, 26, Tricia Tavitas, 29, and Stephen Urriata, 27.

The four suspects were all federally charged with Conspiracy to Distribute 500 grams or more of Heroin in the Western District of Texas, concluded the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
