Intoxicated man rescued after getting stuck inside car wash

CORPUS CHRISTI – An intoxicated man was rescued from inside of a Flour Bluff car wash on Monday, stated the Corpus Christi Police Department.

Once police arrived at the car wash located on SPID near NAS Drive, they discovered a drunk man inside who was sleeping in a sleeping bag, reported police.

According to CCPD, firefighters were called to assist at the scene after law enforcement observed that the man’s sleeping bag got caught in the machinery of the car wash.

Law enforcement detailed that apparently, while he was sleeping someone turning on the car wash in an attempt to wash their vehicle which resulted in the incident.

KENS 5 News reported that Lt. Kody Harrison stated, “This, this is a first. I would think with the technology today if this had been equipment that they had had five years ago the man probably would have lost his arm and his leg.”

Although the man was not injured during the incident, police said the man faces public intoxication charges.
