Homeless man arrested for breaking into a home and exposing himself to homeowner

AUSTIN – On Saturday, July 13th, Travis County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call to a residence in the 7500 block of Daffan Lane a little before 9 a.m. The female resident informed the police that she was in her bedroom when she heard someone inside of her home.

According to the arrest affidavit, the woman stepped out of her bedroom and found the homeless man, 29-year-old Johnathan Alvarado, inside of her home. She informed officers that she did not know who the man was or his intent inside her home. The resident stated she certainly did not invite the man into her home.

The woman stated that Alvarado apparently used the bathroom and when he came out, he moved towards her while she was sitting in a chair. Next, Alvarado allegedly straddled the woman and exposed himself to her, according to the report.

The woman also informed deputies that he never attempted any further physical advances but due to fear she was unable to call 911 at that moment. She was able to out of the chair and told Alvarado she had to leave, she then was able to call 911 and he left her home according to the affidavit.





Alvarado was arrested last week and was charged with second-degree felony burglary of a habitation and his bail was set at $30,000.
