Former Coppell Middle School teacher accused of inappropriate conduct with a student, indicted on 3 counts

DALLAS – According to the Dallas County district attorney’s office, Julie Jenkin Brewer, age 45, a former Coppell ISD Middle School teacher, was accused of inappropriate behavior with a student has been indicted on three counts.

Brewer was arrested back in January at Coppell Middle School West, where she was employed as a teacher.

Monday, June 17th, a grand jury indicted Brewer on all charges of online solicitation of a minor, improper relations between educator and student, and sexual performance by a child, according to court documents.

The parents of the student, a 13-year-old female, contacted the middle school’s administration after discovering the sexually graphic messages sent through Facebook between Brewer and the student, according to the arrest warrant affidavit.

Brewer chatted about kissing and other sexual activities with the student in the messages, according to the affidavit.

After her arrest, Brewer resigned from her job as the seventh-grade language-arts teacher and sixth- through eighth-grade READ 180 teacher.
