Driver killed in suspected road rage shooting incident on Highway 6

HOUSTON – Early Tuesday morning a man was discovered gunned down in the middle of Texas Highway 6 in what detectives suspect to be a road rage shooting.

Deputies discovered the victim at the intersection of Highway 6 and Forest Trails in the Copperfield neighborhood shortly after midnight.

According to Harris County Sheriff’s Homicide Division Sgt. Eric Clegg, the victim, who at this time is only as an adult male, was found lying immobile next to his black pickup truck in the street.

Paramedics attempted CPR and transported the victim to a local area hospital, but the man was later pronounced dead, according to Sgt. Clegg.

Sgt. Clegg also added that the shooting proceeded some type of argument in the middle of the street, and road rage is the suspected motive in this incident.
