Shooting near Dallas convenience store leaves good samaritan dead

DALLAS – A man is dead after attempting to come to assist a woman in the middle of a disagreement with another man just outside the TMA Grocery Store near 2nd Avenue and Metropolitan.

According to officials, when Dallas Police arrived on scene they discovered the man lying injured in a grassy area close by.

The Good Samaritan was transported to a local area hospital for treatment but later died due to his injuries.

According to DPD investigators, the security footage from the store allegedly shows the victim being shot across the street from the TMA Grocery Store and running to the store and failing in the grassy lot in the back of the store.

Officials state after the shooting the suspect is seen on the footage apparently driving away from the convenience store.

Dallas Police stated a suspect was pulled over in a traffic stop and is currently being held as a person of interest.

At this time, investigators have yet to release the names of the victim or the person in custody.
