Cousin faces charges after 3-week-old baby discovered safe from Amber Alert

AUSTIN – One of three suspects have been arrested in the case of three-week-old Elijah Philips, who went missing and is now safe in CPS custody.

Brandy Yovonne Galbert, age 41, is the mother’s cousin and is currently in custody. She is believed to have left the hospital with baby Elijah after the boy’s mother, providing a fake name, gave her permission.

A statewide Amber Alert was issued for Elijah and he was discovered safe later that day.

According to an affidavit, Galbert faces a felony charge of interfering with the custody of a child after failing to cooperate with Child Protective Services.
