COMAL COUNTY — A jury found a man guilty of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Against a Public Servant Thursday.
Jeremiah Navarro, 37, became violent with New Braunfels Police Department officers who responded to a disturbance and repeated 911 hangups.
The Comal County DA’s Office says that Navarro tried to stab an officer with a screwdriver and subsequently bit the officer.
Navarro has a long criminal history including convictions of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Burglary of Habitation with Intent to Commit Assault, Violation of a Protective Order and Felony Evading Arrest.
The prosecutors, in this case, were Assistant District Attorneys Daniel Floyd and Jessica Frazer.
Judge Dip Waldrip will assess what Navarro’s punishment will be and sentence him at a later court date.
