Child left in hot car dies in Dallas


PROVIDENCE VILLAGE – A child found unconscious in a hot car in Dallas on Saturday morning has passed away, according to police.

The 4-year-old boy, Kaysen Neyland, was found outside his home in the 10000 block of Franklin Street at approximately 5:00 p.m. when temperatures were reading in the mid-90s.

It is unclear at this time how long Neyland was in the vehicle before he was discovered by his family.

Neyland was airlifted to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas where he was pronounced dead.

Dallas Chief of Police Charles Kreidler added that the incident is currently under investigation with the assistance of state and local agencies.

Kriedler said, “Any conclusions drawn at this point are speculative and could be detrimental to our investigation as we continue our pursuit of information in this case.”

An autopsy is set to be performed by the Dallas County Medical Examiner.

Kreidler concluded to say that no criminal charges have been filed at this point.
