BURNET COUNTY — A Burnet County man has been arrested after being indicted on twelve counts of Child Pornography by a Burnet County grand jury on August 6th, 2019.
Richard Cornelius, 68, was arrested Thursday after an investigation that started back in September 2018.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) received information that images of child pornography had been downloaded to an address in Ruidoso, New Mexico.
New Mexican authorities determined that Richard Cornelius was visiting the address when the images were downloaded, according to BCSO.
Burnet County Sheriff’s Office said that they were alerted that Cornelius had returned home to Burnet County, and they then took over the investigation.
Authorities allegedly found over 300 images of suspected child pornography when they searched his laptop and other electronic devices.
Cornelius was arrested in February for Possession of Promotion of Child Pornography and was released after posting a $75,000 bond, according to BCSO.
Now Cornelius is back in jail after being indicted on 12 counts of Child Pornography Thursday. There’s no word on what his bond amount is at this time.
