Aunt arrested in connection to the death of Dallas 18-month-old Cedric Jackson

Chrystal Jackson | Dallas County Jail

DALLAS – The aunt of the 18-month-old boy who went missing and was later found dead in a landfill has been arrested.

Chrystal Jackson, the aunt, and guardian of Cedric “C.J.” Jackson was arrested on Thursday morning and charged with child endangerment.

Police said that during the investigation of the boy’s death, Jackson initially stated that she had put the little boy to bed sometime after 11:00 p.m. that night and he was gone the next morning when she awoke.

Family members told police that they were concerned about the claims because Jackson slept next to CJ, in the same bed.

After her boyfriend Sedrick Johnson was arrested, her story changed saying that she woke up during the night and noticed that her boyfriend and the child were missing. She continued to say that she then called Johnson and asked him why they weren’t at the residence.

Chrystal was transported to the Dallas County Jail where she is being held on a $35,000 bond.
