Amanda Hawkins lawyer attempts to get case dismissed

March 21, 2018

A motion to suppress is expected to be filed, if it hasn’t already, in favor of Amanda Hawkins. Her lawyer claims she was not read her Miranda Rights or issued a lawyer when she asked for one. The hearing is set for April 18, 2018. Amanda’s lawyer has up until 10 days before the hearing to file the motion.

District Attorney Lucy Wilke has confirmed to Kerrville Breaking News that they will dispute his motion to suppress, stating that Amanda Hawkins was not in custody at the time of questioning.

Sheriff Hierholzer states, “The trial has been reset for another date, not unusual.”
