SMITH COUNTY – The body of 3-year-old Madison Williams was discovered in a pond between her house and her grandparent’s house on Sunday morning after her family reported her missing, according to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office.
SCSO stated that they responded to a missing child report at 6404 CR 210 in the Chapel Hill area around 10:00 a.m. on Sunday.
Deputies spoke to Madison’s mother who said that she had been possibly missing since about 7:00 a.m. that morning.
With the assistance from Smith County investigators, Texas Game Warden, DPS, Texas Rangers, DPS Investigators, DPS Aviation, Chapel Hill Volunteer Fire Department, ESD 2, and the FBI, the search for the child began.
Officials reported that a door-to-door check and the questioning of family and friends took place during the search.
An investigation of this incident is ongoing.
