HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Authorities detained a 14-year-old teen who they believe shot his sister and killed her boyfriend at a house party.

According to The Chron, the suspect’s sister is at the hospital and expected to survive.

Her boyfriend was declared dead at the scene.

Harris County Sherriff Ed Gonzalez said police arrived on Saturday at 11:40 p.m. to the 24000 block of Pepperell Place Street and found that the suspect used a shotgun to wound his sister, 18, and fatally shoot her boyfriend, 20.

According to Sheriff Gonzalez, there had been some issues between the suspect and his sister’s boyfriend.

Police said there were 10 people inside the home at the time of the shooting.

Sheriff Gonzalez said that the suspect is no longer in police custody and their findings will be given to juvenile prosecutors.
