Alleged assault on two different woman at Collin County assisted care facility leads police to an arrest and seizure of $50k in counterfeit cash

COLLIN COUNTY – It was announced that on June 24, one woman was arrested for an alleged assault of two women at an assisted care facility in Lucas, according to the Collin County Sheriff’s Office.


An investigation, with assistance from the Texas Health and Human Services, led authorities to discover that a former caregiver of the facility, named as Glenda Basanes, was falsely identifying herself as a registered nurse, stated CCSO.


During the investigation, Collin County officials also stated that it was learned that Basanes had committed an assault against an elderly woman resident of the location, along with another unrelated female.

Investigators reportedly arrested Basanes and seized $50,000.00 of counterfeit currency that was found in her possession.

Basanes was transported to the Collin County Jail on a $62,500.00 bond.
