BEE COUNTY – At around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, a Bee County resident called the sheriff’s office to report that a Blue Indigo snake was in their backyard.

Upon the arrival of Deputy Meakins, the close-to 8-foot long snake was located and rescued using a catch bag to keep it secure.

Since Blue Indigo snakes are known to kill rattlesnakes, the deputy released the animal at a location that recently reported seeing two rattlesnakes.
